The “About: reading selections are designed to be within the 4—6 reading bands. I realize this is a wide range, and after reviewing the selections I would say that after omitting topic-specific vocabulary, the independent reading level falls more toward 5th and 6th grade ranges. If you are guiding students through the reading selection, I think the text is accessible for students in grade 4.  I hope this information is helpful to you.
