At first glance I was looking forward to using this product and thought it was going to be great. The first lesson on the long a is great and the centre mat activity has the students choose between ai and ay for different words. The next lesson focus is on the long e sound but when they get to the practice sheets, the letters for the long e diagraph is already on the centre mat sheet and they choose the ending consonant. I am not sure how this reinforces the concept. I thought this was a mistake on this one lesson but then the next few lessons are the same. I noticed the same thing with another book in this series. I will have to take the time to correct all the sheets which defeated the purpose of buying the book. I usually find Evan-moor products really good but was disappointed with this one. Maybe this is why it was on sale.
