New Evan-Moor Language Fundamentals Books Reinforce Grades 1–6 Students' Language Skills
Six new titles give teachers comprehensive, grade-level resources for grammar, mechanics, vocabulary, usage, and editing proficiency.
MONTEREY, CALIF. (January 1, 2007) - Evan-Moor introduces a new series that focuses on fundamental language skills. With a book for each grade one through six, Language Fundamentals is a comprehensive resource for grade-level grammar, mechanics, and usage practice that accommodates varied skills levels, allowing teachers to target specific skills within a broad scope of material. Available January 1, 2007, this series is the perfect companion for Evan-Moor's popularDaily Language Review. Language Fundamentals are correlated to state standards and can help students prepare for standardized tests.
Each book is divided into five general topics: Grammar, Mechanics, Usage, Vocabulary, and Sentence Editing. The detailed table of contents helps educators find the skill practice to meet individual student needs. Each activity page begins with an instructional rule box with examples of how the rule is applied to writing. Students are able to refer to the rule and examples while completing the activity. Activity pages progress in difficulty and build on previous skills. In addition to writing exercises, every book includes review pages presented in a multiple-choice format to simulate testing. Each review covers a small subset of skills and may be used as an assessment of student skill acquisition.
"Evan-Moor's new Language Fundamentals provides extra practice for the same skills addressed in our popular Daily Language Review series," says Evan-Moor CEO Bill Evans. "Language Fundamentals was developed in response to teacher requests for more skill review that could pinpoint specific skill-building across a broad spectrum of grade-level language proficiency."
Designed for grades 1-6 classroom use, homeschoolers, English language learners, gifted, and special needs teachers, Language Fundamentals is eligible for Title I, Reading First, 21st Century Learning Centers, and Title V funds.
Each grade-specific edition contains 240 pages that cover language, mechanics, grammar, usage, vocabulary, and editing skills. The retail price of Language Fundamentals is $29.99.
