New Evan-Moor Daily Academic Vocabulary Series Improves Vocabulary Acquisition in Grades 2–6
Educators may choose from consumable Student Practice Books or Reproducible Teacher's Editions to improve students' vocabulary in a variety of academic contexts.
MONTEREY, CALIF. (June 1, 2007) - Evan-Moor Educational Publishers announces the newest addition to their popular "Dailies" series: Daily Academic Vocabulary. Daily Academic Vocabulary is a supplemental vocabulary series for grades 2-6. Each book provides 36 weeks of instruction and practice on words that students frequently encounter in their coursework and in assessment. The books are available as both reproducible teacher books and consumable student books.
Daily Academic Vocabulary provides students with practice and instruction on key academic vocabulary words they will repeatedly meet in multiple educational contexts. Academic vocabulary is defined as critical vocabulary used frequently in diverse materials across subject areas and grade levels. Knowing this "vocabulary of learning"—words such as compare, occurrence, structure, and sequential, for example—is essential for students to understand concepts presented in school. "Elementary and middle school teachers understand the long-term benefits of strengthening their students' academic vocabulary skills," said Bills Evans, CEO of Evan-Moor.
