William E. Evans, Founder and CEO

Bill Evans is one of the three founding partners of Evan-Moor Educational Publishers. Along with his sister Joy Evans and friend Jo Ellen Moore, he has been Helping Children Learn since 1979. Evans' vast experience with public relations, journalism, mass media, and law has galvanized Evan-Moor into the highly successful publisher it is today. Before founding Evan-Moor, Bill worked as a speechwriter for the president of Los Angeles City College as an Associate Professor of Journalism at East Los Angeles College, and also opened his own law office in Monterey. In December 2005, Bill was bestowed with the publishing industry's highest honor—an induction into the Associate of Educational Publishers' Hall of Fame.

Joy Evans, Founder and Publisher

As one of the original founders of Evan-Moor Educational Publishers, Joy Evans has been a driving force in the creative, administrative, and commercial development of the company since 1979. Her contributions in directing the conception and production of all Evan-Moor materials has helped establish the company as the trustworthy producer of quality educational materials it is today. Before creating Evan-Moor along with her brother Bill and good friend Jo Ellen, Joy taught elementary school for eighteen years at various locations in California, as well as overseas. She also enjoyed seven years as a school librarian before transitioning out of teaching to devote herself full time to publishing.

Since joining Evan-Moor in 2007, CPA David Miller has taken over the management and direction of all financial responsibilities, including the supervision of purchasing, human resources, IT, and legal activities. With eighteen years of fiscal experience in the education market at companies such as Gareth Stevens Inc., and Arthur Young & Company, Miller has contributed a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the economic development of Evan-Moor.

Marcia K. Wall, National Sales Director

Marcia Wall rejoined Evan-Moor in 2006 after working as a sales representative. As National Sales Director she directs sales efforts dedicated to wholesale markets, such as educational dealers, bookstores, and catalog companies. Wall's expertise and success in strategic educational sales at companies such as Creative Teaching Press Corp., has helped her become a valuable leader of Evan-Moor's national sales team. In additional to her leadership role, Wall is also responsible for managing sales promotions and customer accounts.

Andrea Weiss, Editorial Director

Since joining Evan-Moor in 2006, Andrea Weiss has played an integral role in expanding the scope of products the company publishes. Her experience at both educational and trade publishing companies, such as Hampton-Brown, American Girl, Silver Burdett, and Houghton-Mifflin, has made her a key player in the all phases of editorial development. Along with the management of the editorial team, Weiss is responsible for contracting outside consultant and developers, creating schedules, market research, and product planning.

Anny Banales, Director of Customer Service

Anney Banales has managed Evan-Moor's Customer Service Department since 1995. Along with her management duties, she is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of three Web sites, as well as an off-site call center. Banales' background in retail sales management and buying, including school supply sales, has allowed her to contribute to Evan-Moor's tradition of high level of customer satisfaction.

David E. Sawyer, Fulfillment & Facilities Manager

David E. Sawyer joined Evan-Moor with a variety of knowledge and experience as a warehouse supervisor and distribution specialist. He has been employed with McCormick & Company, Radionics, Nortel Networks, and has owned and operated his own company, SVW Custom Material Handling, offering warehouse design and consulting services for fulfillment operations. At Evan-Moor, Sawyer uses his experience and talents in the areas of supervision of order fulfillment, management of two warehouses, inventory control, and building maintenance.
