JO ELLEN MOORE
Founder and Retired Publisher
Since founding the company in 1979 along with her good friends Joy and Bill Evans,
Jo Ellen Moore has continued to be a major contributor in the creative development
and administrative evolution of the company. Moore's direction in areas such as
brainstorming, prototyping, and production has helped Evan-Moor materials gain the
reputation for quality and excellence they enjoy in educational circles today. Prior
to founding Evan-Moor, Moore taught at a variety of schools throughout the Monterey
Peninsula Unified School District for nearly 20 years, taking part in programs such
as the Head Start summer school curriculum for low-income families. After devoting
more than 25 years to Evan-Moor, she retired in 2006, yet continues to play a role
in the creative development of Evan-Moor materials today.
