  Hot Topics: High-Interest Reading is a supplemental "high-low" reading product for struggling readers in grades 4 and up. The product consists of two kits, sets A and B, offering a range of reading selections at different readability levels. Each kit contains 20 high-impact, full-color, 4-page reading selections; a spiral-bound teacher's guide with before-, during-, and after-reading strategies; and an audio CD with read-alouds of all of the selections. Like Hot Topics Sets A and B, Hot Topics Science is a supplemental high-interest reading product for struggling readers in grades 4 and up. However, unlike Sets A and B, Hot Topics Science consists entirely of science-related nonfiction texts covering a variety of topics and concepts. The selections offer students the opportunity to practice most of the same comprehension strategies targeted in Sets A and B, with a focus on exploring text features and structures commonly encountered in science texts.
